1. Introduction

Matiz Plataforma de Publicidade (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website at https://usematiz.com, contact us directly, or interact with us through third-party platforms including LinkedIn, Meta (Instagram and WhatsApp), and Google (YouTube).

This Policy also explains how personal data is processed through Matiz when client organisations and their authorised users maintain contacts, audiences and lists in the platform. These records may concern individuals who do not have a Matiz account or a direct relationship with Matiz Plataforma de Publicidade.

Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of our site and services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Fill out a contact form or send us an enquiry
  • Contact us via email, WhatsApp, or social media
  • Request a proposal, quote, or service information
  • Subscribe to any communications we may offer

This information may include your name, email address, phone number, company name, and any message content you choose to share.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, certain technical information may be collected automatically, including:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referring URL and exit pages
  • Device type and operating system

2.3 Information From Third-Party Platforms

If you interact with us through LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, Pinterest or YouTube, those platforms may share certain information with us in accordance with their own privacy policies and your privacy settings on those platforms. We may receive public profile data, messages, or engagement metrics, depending on the platform and the permissions you have granted.

2.4 Contacts, Audiences and Lists Provided by Clients

Client organisations and their authorised users may provide personal data about third parties when creating and maintaining contacts, audiences and lists. This may include names, telephone numbers, list memberships and records of when and by whom those records were created or changed.

Depending on the features available under the contracted services, this information may be entered manually or submitted through batch imports. The client determines which records it provides and is responsible for their lawful origin, accuracy and use.

Providing a contact record or importing a list does not establish that the individual has consented to processing or authorised communications. The platform does not verify or certify recipient consent, opt-in or the truthfulness or quality of client-provided records.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide requested services
  • Communicate with you about projects, proposals, and updates
  • Improve our website content and service offerings
  • Analyse usage patterns to enhance user experience
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Manage our social media presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Processing Client Contact Data

We store and process client-provided contact data to provide the contracted features, including maintaining contact records, organising audiences and lists, managing their relationships, controlling authorised access and recording relevant operations for security and accountability.

Where communication features are available and requested by the client, relevant contact data may be used to prepare or carry out communications through accounts or channels connected by that client. Any such use remains subject to applicable law, required recipient permissions and the policies and terms of the channels used. Storing a contact or adding it to a list does not itself initiate or authorise a communication.

Connected Accounts and Channels

When you connect an account or communication channel, we process the authorisation information necessary to maintain that connection and perform the actions you request through the available features. We apply appropriate security measures to protect this information. When a requested action requires information to be sent to the connected channel, the relevant data is also processed under that channel's own terms and privacy practices.

Data Protection Roles and Responsibilities

Data protection roles depend on the purposes of each processing activity and on who determines its essential means. When a client organisation determines why and how its contact database is used, it generally acts as the controller of that processing. When we process that data on its behalf to provide the contracted features and follow its lawful instructions, we act as a processor. Where the client acts on behalf of another controller, the respective roles and instructions must reflect that relationship.

We may act as a controller for processing whose purposes we determine, such as managing our own customer relationship, billing, meeting legal obligations and protecting our services. Those activities are subject to our own legal responsibilities.

Client organisations are responsible for the lawful collection and intended use of their contact data, required notices and permissions, and the instructions given to authorised users. Authorised users must act within their permissions and the organisation's lawful instructions. We are responsible for our own processing obligations, appropriate security measures and assistance required by applicable law in relation to data processed on the client's behalf. This allocation does not remove obligations or liability imposed by law on any party.

4. Third-Party Platforms and APIs

Our services involve the use of third-party platforms. Each platform operates under its own terms and privacy practices:

4.1 LinkedIn

We use the LinkedIn platform for professional networking and business development. Our use of LinkedIn data is governed by the LinkedIn Privacy Policy and the LinkedIn User Agreement. We comply with the LinkedIn API Terms of Use and do not use LinkedIn data for purposes prohibited by LinkedIn.

4.2 Meta (Instagram and WhatsApp)

We use these platforms in connection with our services and communications with clients. Client organisations may also connect their own accounts for the features available under their contracted services. Our use of these platforms is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy and the respective platform terms of service. We comply with the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies. Records of enquiries addressed to us are retained as described in Section 6. Contact data maintained by client organisations and any records associated with their use of available communication features are processed for the applicable contracted purposes and are subject to the retention rules described in that section.

4.3 Google and YouTube

We may use Google APIs and YouTube services in connection with our work. Our use of these services is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service. Where we access data through Google APIs, we comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4.4 TikTok

We may use TikTok services and APIs in connection with content publishing, analytics, and audience engagement. Our use of TikTok data is governed by the TikTok Privacy Policy and the applicable TikTok Developer Terms. We only access information necessary to provide our services and do not sell or share TikTok user data with unauthorized third parties.

4.5 Pinterest

We may use Pinterest services and APIs for content publishing, performance measurement, and audience engagement. Our use of Pinterest data is governed by the Pinterest Privacy Policy and Pinterest developer requirements. Information obtained through Pinterest APIs is used solely for the purposes authorized by the user and in accordance with Pinterest platform policies.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve functionality and analyse traffic. You may control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the website.

We do not use cookies for cross-site behavioural advertising or to build individual user profiles for sale.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the applicable purposes or as required or permitted by law. Contact and enquiry records relating to communications addressed directly to Matiz Plataforma de Publicidade are generally retained for up to 24 months after the last interaction, unless a longer period is justified by a legal obligation or another applicable lawful ground.

Contacts, audiences and lists maintained by client organisations are retained to provide the contracted services, subject to the client's lawful instructions and applicable retention requirements. The 24-month period described above does not automatically apply to those databases.

Archiving a contact or list does not delete its personal data. Deletion requests concerning client-controlled records are assessed and handled with the responsible organisation, as appropriate to our role and applicable law. When the relevant services end, continued retention must be limited to a lawful purpose, including applicable legal obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. We do not promise immediate or automatic deletion where the contracted features or applicable legal requirements require a different process.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you
  • The right to request correction of inaccurate data
  • The right to request deletion of your personal data
  • The right to object to or restrict processing
  • The right to data portability (where technically feasible)
  • The right to withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 11 below.

If your personal data was provided by a client organisation, that organisation may be responsible for deciding how to respond to your request. You may contact the organisation directly or contact us using the details below. We will assess our role and provide the assistance required by applicable law, including coordinating with the responsible organisation where appropriate. Requests to unsubscribe from or stop a client's communications should also be directed to that organisation and must be respected in accordance with applicable law and the rules of the channel used.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
